New Zealand: North Island Gallery

Everyone says that South Island of New Zealand is much more beautiful than the North Island. While I agree, I have to say that the light on the North Island was spectacular when I was there. It was a little less harsh than the light on the South Island and the partial cloud coverage made for beautiful sunrise and sunsets and breathtaking rolling green hills. I spent most of the time there at my friend Tracy's house in Tauranga. She lives on a road called Whakamarama (pronounced Faka-ma-rama) which means both understanding and light or enlightenment. Many of the sunrise shots were taken just up the road from her house.
