New Zealand: South Island Gallery

New Zealand is one of the most magical places I have ever been; an incredibly benevolent eco-system, ancient trees, native forests that grow in a spirit of deep cooperation, flowers pollinated by butterflies, moths, & bees--in these modern days, it's hard to be believe that a place like this exists. And the diversity of the landscape and stunning beauty of the South Island make it high on many people's travel list. Covering 151,215 sq kilometers, the South Island has only a little over a million of the 4.4 million inhabitants in the whole country and has 20 times as many sheep as people! I only had a precious 16 days on the South Island and there was so much I wanted to see, I ended up visiting 15 different cities. Needless to say, I did almost as much driving as photographing.
